Having fun together can be a form of worship and thanks. It was great to express that. More variations on these themes to come!
From there we plunged into Matthew 13 together - part 2 down, with the third and final part to come this Sunday.

Last Sunday, we built on that by looking at the next parable of the plants and the weeds and how we want God to remove challenges and weeds from among us...but he deliberately sows us into the world, weeds and all, so that we can grow up in its midst, learning to draw on him and each other as our character is formed and forged so that we can hold his power and light without abusing it...then when that happens, our light can truly shine from within the darkness.
When people pray for him to take the pain and darkness away, he seems to answer that prayer by planting the seeds of light (that's us!) into the middle of the darkness. We must confront the darkness of this world from right alongside those who are suffering from it. That takes courage...but that courage opens the door for him to move and we are beginning to see signs of that in the midst of The Local now. That is worth celebrating together. As Jesus said, it only takes faith the size of a mustard seed and it becomes a huge crop - but the seed has to be planted! Thanks for joining with us as God plants us all in this neighbourhood. Let's see what grows!
This Sunday we'll look at the last two parables - the hidden treasure and the great net. Have a read and see what the Holy Spirit might be saying to you.
See ya Sunday - 11am, Trentham Community House.
