We've lost so much of the sense of real community in life today, the Local Social events are about recapturing some of this. It's also about making sure we don't become slaves to the Sunday Church Service either...once a month we'll do something quite different.
We'll still have some interesting conversation and learn more about life, God and each other in our social events, but we'll do it as we play. We'll experiment with our own version of Social Cooking, picnics and trips to the beach as well as skit nights and so on. First up though, this coming Sunday we're running a movie night with a difference...we're bringing Intermission back and will have a couple of discussion questions relating to the film during the break.
We'll share tea from 5-5:30pm then kick off the film with 15mins for intermission and a couple of discussion questions around 6:30. Open to anyone at all - friends, family, enemies and arch nemesis alike - just bring something to share.
What movie will we watch? Well that's up to you...vote for your preferred choice below and we'll see you there:
Trentham Community House, Sunday 5 October, 5pm.
(ps you might not know The Peaceful Warrior. It's based on a best-selling book Way of the Peaceful Warrior and stars Nick Nolte. Trailer here).
